Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go?
Whether you've attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. You’re not quite sure what to expect. You probably have a lot of questions. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions and the answers for each of them. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us or visit with one of our staff when you are here.
When are services?
At First Christian Church, we offer a time of learning for all ages through our Christian Education Classes that begin at 9:30am on Sunday mornings. These are very relaxed and informal times consisting of several different small groups studying the Word of God. Our Sunday morning worship service begins promptly at 10:30am.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing. During each service you will notice some of our attenders wearing casual attire such as sandals, jeans, shorts, or t-shirts. Others prefer to put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress.
How do I get to First Christian Church?
First Christian Church, disciplesplace, is located at 2338 Hwy 62 W in Mountain Home, AR. We are just past the bypass on the south side of the road next to Ultimate Ford.
Where do my children go?
Our Children's department is the perfect place for your children, infant through fourth grade, to go while you attend service. At 9:30 we have several different classes divided by age and grade levels that provide biblical teaching opportunities with fun and exciting activities to help children learn. During the 10:30 worship service we offer a unique Children's Church experience tailored specifically to the younger aged students. Our nursery is available through the entire service beginning at 9:30.
Am I expected to put money in the offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. We believe giving is an act of worship for those members who have a personal relationship with God. We encourage our church family to give regularly and generously in response to God’s gracious gifts.
What is a Church service like?
You can expect a variety of musical styles, each designed specifically to provide an atmosphere of worship. The messages are biblical and practical, helping you reach your full potential in Christ. We utilize video, drama and other creative expressions to communicate God’s message. In each of our services you will have the opportunity to participate in the Lord's Supper with us. While there is an open invitation to anyone who is a believer, please do not feel obligated to participate. Just let the trays pass you by. In all things, we do our very best to create an environment where every person can encounter the presence of God.
There are only two things left...
1. COME JUST AS YOU ARE.
2. DON'T BE PERFECT.
Seriously! You don’t have to try to be someone you’re not. That life is exhausting. You don’t have to pretend like you have everything figured out. First Christian Church is a place where God meets people right where they are who are far from perfect. Everybody is welcome here, whatever your story, your questions, doubts or struggles. God is here and anything is possible!
